Crediton is well known for being a lively creative place and the wealth of local music events certainly confirms this. But if you’re new to the area, or even if you’ve lived here for years, it’s not always easy to find out what’s going on. Local singer Hazel Underwood has compiled this handy list of regular music events and sessions. Whether you're into folk, jazz, pop or classical, there's something for everyone. All are free unless specified.

Tuesdays

Every Tuesday – 7.15pm  Crediton Strummers at Crediton Arts Centre.  £2.50 Open to anyone who plays an instrument, at any level. Music and words for popular songs provided Contact:  Ed Finch 07810861917

1st Tuesday of the month – 8pm  Sandford Folk Session at The Lamb Inn, Sandford, main bar.  Mainly song.

Last Tuesday of the month - 8pm  Folk session at the New Inn, Coleford Mainly song.

Wednesday

Every Wednesday  - 7.30pm CODS  (Crediton Operatic and Drama Society), Old Town Hall (above the museum). Put on regular plays, musicals and concerts, Check website for details of their next show. https://www.codsonline.com

2nd Wednesday of the month Open Mic The White Hart, North Tawton

Thursdays

Every Thursday -  8-9pm Crediton Community Samba Band. Old Town Hall (above the museum). New members welcome £2

1st Thursday of the month -   12 - 3pm and 3rd Thursday - 7.30pm Folk session at The London Inn, Morchard Bishop run by Pennymoor Singaround, with a break for lunch for those who wish to eat. Mainly song.

Pennymoor Singaround

3rd Thursday of the month -  7.30pm Moon Jazz Club, The Little Three Pigs, Crediton Town Square. Regular house band but anyone can play, sing or jam. Entry £5

Fridays

2nd Friday of the month – 7pm  Night Train Open Mic at Elephant on the Green, St Lawrence Green, Crediton.

Sundays

2nd  Sunday of the month - 7pm – 10pm  Blues Jam at The Red Deer pub near the Tesco super store.

3rd Sunday of the month - 7pm – 10pm  Jazz Night at The Red Deer pub near the Tesco supers tore.

Last Sunday of the month  - 7 - 10pm The Great Crediton Jam Night at The Red Deer pub near the Tesco super store Amplified jam and open mic.

Last Sunday of the month - 12-3pm Folk music session, Puddington Village Hall EX16 8LW Musicians and listeners welcome
